Study buddy v.3

I'm sure it comes as no surprise to everyone that the education system has embraced technology. Many schools in singapore now have an e-learning week or even classes online! Take for example, the ub business school has videos of lecturers from USA uploaded weekly so that the local students can be part of the class. Essentially, our classroom has gone global!

Some examples of how learning can be made effective through the use of digital media is found in our class! Videos shown to us by our teacher: Mr choy have clearly broken down and simplifed some of the more complex technical terms. Here are the some links;

On the ipod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN0SVBCJqLs

And i think that we all learn through the internet, be it individually or with via prompting from our teachers. Each time we google something or read a wikipedia page, we are essentially learning something from the internet. There's no escaping it! I would imagine the future classroom to be either in the comfort of our own homes or a classroom with touch screen technology just like the one below!

Microsoft Surface Technology is is a multi-touch product from Microsoft which is developed as a software and hardware combination technology that allows a user, or multiple users, to manipulate digital content by the use of gesture recognition. Here's a video to better explain it (aha, see, e-learning here with the help of digital media!):
I feel that this technology will definitely be a breakthrough in terms of usefulness. However, the extent of this usefulness would first and foremost depend on the price of the product. If it is affordable, everyone could bring one home and it could thus be intergrated into their daily lives. However,if it remains expensive and only businesses such as starbucks could use it, i feel that people would abuse the free usage of this technology at these places. (for example, spending more than necessary time there) In conclusion, i await the technology explosion that is about to reach the world! It really looks exciting! Meanwhile,i shall catch up on/master whatever existing, outdated technology avaliable to us now! (:
